Akron Oatmeal Festival

Akron is one of the birthplaces of the American cereal industry—home to Ferdinand Schumacher, the “Oatmeal King,” whose pioneering oat mill in the 1850s helped launch oatmeal’s popularity across the nation. We’re celebrating that deliciously quirky legacy with the first-ever Akron Oatmeal Festival!

This free community festival highlights everything that makes Akron weird and wonderful, featuring:

  • Live performances from local bands
  • Craft and art vendors showcasing creativity
  • Food trucks and local flavors to explore
  • A celebration of Akron’s history and culture

Inspired by festivals like Picklesburgh and the Ohio Pawpaw Festival, the Akron Oatmeal Festival is a one-of-a-kind gathering that blends history, creativity, and fun. Whether you come for the music, the food, or the unique Akron flair, you’ll leave with a new appreciation for the city’s OAT-standing roots.

Admission is free. Bring your friends, family, and curiosity—and be part of Akron history in the making!
