On September 22nd, join us for our next Akron History Hike through Sherbondy Hill, one of Akron’s most historic neighborhoods. Once a hub for the city’s working families, Sherbondy Hill holds stories of resilience, community, and change that continue to shape Akron today. Along the way, you’ll learn about the neighborhood’s past and see how it connects to our city’s 200-year journey.
Summit County Historical Society President and CEO Leianne Neff Heppner will facilitate this guided tour.
Registered attendees will meet at the Odom Boulevard Branch Library and the tour will begin at 6 pm.
Please wear comfortable footwear, as hikers should be prepared to walk up and down hills.
For this excursion, our Bicentennial sponsor, METRO RTA, will provide transportation on its Akron 200 wrapped bus between each stop of the tour.
Seating is limited. Advanced registration is required. Click HERE to sign up today!
